“Coming from a land of green trees, I was amazed at the beauty of the Arctic landscape without them. The fragile colours on the land, sky and sea impressed me. Even in the cold harsh winters it held its beauty and I came to understand why the Inuit had such a love and closeness to their land. As the saying goes: ART is from the HEART.” - Helen Webster

Iqaluit has been the home of Helen Webster for 49 years.  She came as a teacher to Sir Martin Frobisher School and quickly became involved with the community. She created, with her husband Tom, the Iqaluit Fine Arts Studio, to promote the development of Inuit art and Inuit artists.  She was also involved in the formation of the Nunatta Sunakkutaangit Museum. She hopes that this exhibition, Arctic Images, will help inspire young people to continue to keep records of their unique heritage.

Opening Reception:  Saturday May 19th, 2018, 2:00pm
